A “useless” discussion

So I met my ASU click after nearly 10 months this weekend. Bunty is from Delhi, G Dog from Bangalore and Vassa from the African country Mozambique. All of them very smart, from wealthy families and indiviuals who have open minds about everything except Pakistan. I am not sure why such individuals feel this way in India and Pakistan about each other. See when the partition took place in 1948 these individuals’ parents were not even born, but yet they seem to have that much patriotism like as if they lived during that era. I tried to explain that they are at a higher level in society and that their words and acts could be influential on other people’s thinking and attitude. I am not sure whether that made any effect. My point is this - the individuals who suffer through such wars are innocent poor people. It is not as if most of the affluent families are going to send their children to war. Yet somehow even though they are not directly involved in the war, they support it without realizing that they are not the ones who will lost most and dearly. Why? I am clueless ….

P.S. These men are very smart… They are just toooo partriotic ….

  2. Hi, TK, i will sew your ass down… kidding… however good point on ur view… i know we didnt go thorugh the shit.. and dont even want to… but there is always a feeling… that you wont understand just coz u arnt in the either side…

  3. I think it depends on the people. My best friends girlfriends are Pakistani Muslim and I’m Indian Christian.
And none of us can stand those people who keep wanting to discriminate against Pakistanis or Indians.
I think it’s injurious to hold a grudge. Let bygones be bygones and we can all start afresh as friends.

  4. I don’t agree with the second person before khamosh’s answer. Why wouldn’t he understand? What is the other side that he belongs to? He is also a child of war because he waited for his dad on the train during the ‘83 riots. If anyone went through that then they are one thing lucky they survived but also have seen the most inhumane thing in this world. TK your thoughts are justified.
