Complain and Fail or Resolve and Succeed!!!
I still seem to not have overcome the tragerdy or failure of my first project
. Yes sad indeed and as the saying emphasizes “Life must go on”, cannot seem to follow it. I seem to have scrutinized every single aspect of that project - from my lack of knowledge of the technologies involved, the learning curve of business analysis and the fact that it was my first project, but i think i got the overall picture of why I failed.
I failed because I complained and complained but never really took time out to resolve the issues at hand or well didnt really give 100% to it. When I look back on the days at the client site, I always seem to remember how much crap i spoke about the business managers there or still continue to speak about. What i should have realized was that they are business managers and my role there was to try and resolve their issues instead of acting as the prosecutor. I would look at a task at hand and usually try to scrutinze it which i think is fine but that usually led to me not understanding the problem at hand and making it even bigger.
Then what happened….
The other day, I was thinking about my current project and tried to pinpoint the problems and well i thought i will keep it to myself. Seemed to have benefited because i started to try and resolve some of them through constructive conversations. This led to well work being done faster, more recognition and also a greater harmony among team members because no one was COMPLAINING!!!! Thus we were getting SHIT done!!!!
So Conclusion …
We dont have to criticise everything i suppose and even if we do, well maybe we can try to resolve it ourself if we see it as a problem, and mention the solution after mentioning the issue at hand. Seems to work out better in the end.

Wow. Really philosophical. Trying to be the boss of the show can land you in a big mess and criticizing instead of trying to resolve,as it has happened to me and like you have just experienced the same thing, man things just won’t be the same once you have gone through that one. But hey at least you learnt something while mixing work with pleasure, ie. I think? But at least for your current project you stopped and thought which is what you didn’t do previously. Using that noodle can help in many ways! Believe me!! Well hope you had fun and remember that those who sulk over their mistakes never learn and tend to make them again. Well nighty nite!
